THE term PAPILLOMA refers to a benign growth attached to the face or body. Papillomas affecting the eye primarily appear on the skin of the eyelid. All papillomas have a characteristic configuration of lobular projections that can resemble mulberries or cauliflower. They may be flat or planar or pedunculate. They may be present singly or in multiple numbers. You will need to consult with Dr. Teal to determine the proper diagnosis for your lesion and the best course of treatment. These growths are considered a cosmetic problem and their removal are not covered by OHIP.
